Steel Manual Pedestrian Gate

An existing customer with electric gates wanted to block of an opening between the garden and house so called AGD Systems as we originally fitted the electric gates. The customer wanted a single post for the largest opening size available and had a few designs in mind to compliment the main gates.

After a few designs were passed backwards and forwards a final design was agreed, drawings signed and into production it went. On fitting day the post was chemically anchored to the wall with studding, the post holes capped and top hinge and bottom bearing fixed also with chemical anchors (chemical anchors are a two part resin based mortar mixed through an application gun into a pre drilled hole, the studding is then pushed into the same hole, the resin will then set and secure the studding allowing hinges or posts to be bolted to it with nuts and washers.

This is a much better solution than rawlbolts or sleeve anchors that expand inside the hole until tight as these put high expanding pressures on the bricks and can cause them to crack) the gate was fitted to the hinges/bearing and lined up with the adjustment on the top hinge. When level the lock holes were then drilled into the post for lock and handle tongues and a hold back catch to keep it open
