Commercial Cantilever Sliding Gate

AGD Systems was tasked with quoting for a sliding gate on a customer’s commercial site to close off the site along with their new fencing.

AGD Systems attended site and conducted a full survey including ground levels to find the ground level fell over 200mm across the 4m opening, due to this fall a cantilever gate was suggested as they do not require a track across the road. The quote was agreed and the aluminium gate in black with six safe edges and two sets of photo beams safeties was ordered, during the gate manufacture the area was scanned for any underground services and a concrete pad layout was marked for excavation following the gate groundwork drawing.

The ground was excavated, shuttered and ducting placed ready for the concrete pour, the concrete was ordered and poured making level and smooth ready for the gate to be installed when the concrete is cured. After a week of curing the shuttering was removed and the gate was delivered by crane lorry, craned into place, and bolted down, an exit loop was cut for detecting vehicles and opening the gate for auto exit.

Ducting was installed across the road for the safety devices and access control on the closing catch post.

The gate was then connected to the supplied power cable and the access control wired up, this was to be a Paxton proximity reader system with in and out readers and a one door controller to open the gate when an accepted fob or card is presented to the reader all to be controlled by the company’s existing Paxton computer system on their network (these can also be standalone if needed by the supply of a dedicated pc connected to the controller) the paxton system was connected to the customers network by a long range Wi-Fi repeater and Ethernet switch supplied by their IT team but can be hard wired with Ethernet cable if ran back to the controlling PC.

A time clock was also fitted to turn the auto exit feature of overnight for added security. All safety and access controls were rigorously tested during commissioning before training and handover to the customer.
