Maintenance and Service Project

AGD has maintained this gate for a number of years and during a routine service reported the gate was now badly corroded and unsafe. It was then isolated and secured to prevent it moving for safety reasons. Our customer enquired about replacing it along with a new hydraulic motor as this was also showing signs of wear.

The gate was a unique design incorporating a pedestrian gate controlled by an electric lock inside the main automatic gate along with a built in post box and electric drop bolt for extra security. Measurements and pictures were taken and passed to manufacture for construction, galvanising, and powder coating satin black.

Upon install day the original gate was stripped of all safety edges, locks, and pedestrian gate safety switches all to be reused on the new gate, the gate was removed along with the hydraulic motor to be changed. The new gate was installed onto the automation ground box, welded to the manual release mechanism and top hinge secured.

The new hydraulic motor was then installed and wired, Safety edges were refitted along with the drop bolt and locks, however upon inspection the original pedestrian gate safety switch was replaced due to being worn (this is to stop the main gate from opening/closing if the pedestrian gate is not fully closed which would cause damage or injury).

The locks, switches and edges were all re-connected to the control panel and setup. The stainless steel letterbox was then installed into the pre-manufactured recess in the gate. Anti-climb strips were also fitted to the top of the main gate to prevent access over the gate into the secure carpark. The gate was then tested including all safety devices and electronic force testing via a calibrated handheld force tester before being handed over to the customer.
