The client first visited our showroom during one of our open days, looking to replace their existing automated five-bar gate.
While considering their options, they made it clear that they preferred a traditional gate design and were not keen on a more modern appearance. At the same time, they were interested in the long-term benefits that aluminium gates can offer, including low maintenance and durability.
After discussing the available options, we designed and proposed a traditional-style aluminium gate that complemented the property's character while meeting the client's practical requirements. To help the client visualise the finished result, we provided detailed illustrations showing how the new gates would look within the driveway setting.
One of the key challenges of this project was the limited width of the driveway entrance. To maximise the clear opening width available for vehicles, we proposed the use of offset (back) hinges. This solution allowed the gates to achieve a wider opening angle and improved access without compromising the overall appearance.
For automation, we installed the DEA Ghost 200 underground operators. These motors were selected because they provide reliable performance while remaining completely concealed below ground level.
The underground automation system ensured a clean and unobtrusive finish, maintaining the traditional appearance of the gates without the visual impact of above-ground motors.
As the client operates a business from home, convenient visitor communication was essential.
To meet this requirement, we installed a new Akuvox video intercom system, complete with two internal monitors:
This setup allows the client to communicate with visitors and control gate access from either location, providing both security and convenience throughout the working day.
This project was particularly unique because gates of this style are typically manufactured from steel. However, by utilising our aluminium gate range, we were able to provide the same traditional appearance while delivering several key advantages:
The lighter weight of aluminium places less strain on the motors and hardware, helping to ensure efficient and reliable performance for years to come.
The completed installation successfully combined a traditional gate design with modern automation technology. The client achieved the classic appearance they wanted while benefiting from the advantages of aluminium construction, underground automation, and advanced video intercom communication.
The end result is a secure, reliable, and low-maintenance entrance solution that complements the property and meets both the homeowner's and business requirements.
