Overview

This project was carried out on behalf of Gleeson Buildings for Wellingborough Town Council.

The brand new leisure centre situated on Cannon Street required not only an exit sliding gate system for school coaches, but also, a full perimeter railing fence with a number of pedestrian access gates and a fenced off area for coach parking – everything was sourced and installed by AGD Systems.

The sliding gate was intended as an exit point, controlled from a remote point via intercom and CCTV camera.

Safety was the overriding factor, therefore we specified photocell beams between the steel posts, safety protection edge strips to all leading edges of the gate and posts and even underground safety loop detectors for maximum protection.

The gates hand a simple vertical rail design and were hot dip galvanised and top coated with a stain black spray finish for maximum resistance to corrosion.

The motor unit specified is the FAAC 844 which is a proven sliding gate motor manufactured by a leading supplier.

The overall result is a highly reliable and extremely safe automatic sliding gate system.
