Lightweight Aluminium Gates

Our customer wanted to gate of their narrow driveway with as much access room as possible so some lightweight aluminium gates were decided on so smaller 100mm posts could be used. The customer also wanted a wood effect open top bared and solid lower tongue/groove look on the gates so opted for the light oak wood grain gate from the FT range.

Galvanised 100mm steel posts powder coated black were then installed each side of the driveway along with underground 24v automation allowing the gates to open close to the fence to create a larger opening between the gates. safety beams were installed behind the gates on posts to stop any entrapment when opening along with a centre safe edge for safety when closing, front and rear safety beams were also installed to prevent the gate closing onto vehicles in the event the vehicle stopped between the open gates as they are set to automatically close after opening. We also fitted a standalone black post box on a separate 100mm post.

A GSM audio intercom with keypad was also fitted for visitors to call the customer upon arrival, being GSM, the intercom phones a pre-programmed phone number (either mobile or landline) and will call it as a standard phone call, this can be answered, two-way speech made and an open signal to the gate made if needed via the phone's keypad.

The intercom will also allow pre-programmed phone numbers to call into the intercom and operate the gate if authorised, avoiding the need for remote controls to be carried when leaving on foot or lots of remote controls needed for family members as mobile phones can be used instead, this can also be time banded if needed so a call in number will only work between certain programmed times (e.g. Wednesday mornings between 10am and 11am) the customer also opted to have an auto exit ground loop consisting of a wire loop enclosed in conduit placed into the ground further down the driveway which will detect vehicles driving over it and triggering the gate to open.

Remote controls were also supplied, and pin codes entered the intercom keypad to also open the gates.
