Bi-folding gates can be an ideal solution when there is limited space at any building entrance or access, either behind or to the sides of the entrance area. With the added benefit of generally much faster operational speeds for opening and closing they are also very efficient in busy commercial applications.
The AGD bi-folding electric speed gates are designed to operate at more than twice the speed of automated swing gates. This is useful for vehicle or pedestrian access control in premises with higher volumes of daily traffic.
The Benefits of Bi-Folding Steel Gates:
Convenience and Simplicity: For electric operated folding gates the automated operation makes for a very simple control of access from either a gate house or other control point around the building. Electric operation makes a smoother operation and of course is perfect when the weather is bad, whilst always ensuring the gates are kept closed with auto closing functionality too.
Efficiency in Tight Spaces: When the entrance is narrow or there is no space to either side then bi-folding gates are often the best solution. Tight entrances in city car parks or offload areas in narrow streets and entrances are all a bi fold gate solution potentially.
Fast Operation: Most bi folding gates will operate a lot faster than swing or sliding gates simply because of the design and mechanics.
Versatile and Adaptable: Our bi folding gates do not touch the ground and also don’t swing or slide into larger spans around the entrance so if your ground isn't level they can be a great solution. Rising entrances or just surrounding obstacles can be avoided with the bi fold gate action. All you need are the 2 support posts either side firmly in place and the gates will be operational in no time..
Security: Bi-fold gates are often narrow but also tall so they can offer superb security preventing attempted entry by climbing, but also they are secure when closed with all our gates manufactured in high grade steel.
Durability: Manufactured in high grade and heavy duty steel the durability is superb with minimal wear and tear on any major part encountered in normal operation.
Bespoke Designs: Whilst AGD Systems offer a range of standard steel bi folding gates we can also manufacture in bespoke designs and materials when required. Both domestic and commercial folding gates can be in steel, aluminium or various timber species, although with timber we always recommend the timber is treated as cladding within a steel framework for the obvious reasons of stability and strength in the panels.
AGD 9500 Bi-Folding Electric Gate
The AGD 9500 Bi-Folding electric gate is a trackless commercial steel gate system designed to offer bi-folding steel gates between 3m and 10m wide, in either a single or double leaf gate configuration.
A wide range of gate leaf styles are available such as round vertical 20mm bar, 868 mesh, 358 mesh and V mesh.
Factory finished high quality powdercoat colours are standard with a choice of standard options but also any special colours on request.
These gates are technically a ‘plug and play’ system only requiring bolting to a suitable ground surface or concrete pad, but of course the electric supply and control cables all need organising properly before installation.
Available in heights between 1.8m and 2.5m high this gate is operated using a single phase power supply with an integrated frequency converter supplying a three phase electric motor drive. A worm and wheel gearbox with a direct drive shaft is attached to the leading gate leaf and this provides the electric drive for the gates. All this carried out at a high level and out of the way of the weather and people.
100% duty cycle to provide smooth and speedy operation as much as required for your premises and controlling vehicle and pedestrian access.
Bi-Fold Electric Gate Safety
Electric operated bi-folding gates will have multiple exposed points for crushing and entrapment so the bi-folding gates have multiple safety detection systems as standard situated in those key points to provide maximum security in obstacle detection when operating. The gates will immediately stop moving if any obstacle is detected.
Safety detection edges, dual infra red beams and loop detection are all options depending on the final specification and access control method used.
Access Control
Electric gates of any kind can be integrated with so many access control products from a simple push button through to ANPR (number plate recognition) technology.
For commercial access control and security most electric gate systems will be controlled by a manned security gatehouse or remote manned control with a video and voice intercom. This is of course controlling employees as well as site visitors.
A simple push button system can be used within the secure building or a link to a third party access control management system for logging dates, times and other data.
