A builder homeowner in Milton Keynes original approached us looking to upgrade the gates already in place on a property they had recently purchased. The property already had a set of traditional 5 bar timber manual gates, which suited the character of the home and surrounding area. However, the customer had concerns about long term maintenance requirements of timber and so approached us for some advice.
The customer wanted to keep the classic 5 bar design so we explained we could re-create this in aluminium and it would be very hard to tell the difference visually. The customer was initially hesitant but entrusted us and after seeing samples went ahead with the aluminium timber finish. After the survey, we proposed recreating the gates using aluminium with a timber-effect finish. This approach allowed us to precisely replicate the existing design while offering the durability and minimal maintenance benefits of aluminium. In addition to recreating the main gates, we enhanced the overall entrance with several complementary features:
✔️Matching pedestrian gate to allow easy access for deliveries and visitors without opening the main vehicle gates.
✔️Side infill fencing section to neatly connect the new installation with the neighbouring fence line.
✔️A timber-effect aluminium finish that closely mimics the natural grain and colour of real wood
To maximise convenience and maintain a clean aesthetic, the gates were fitted with 24V underground automation units. Also, the safety systems were designed and fitted to ensure all force testing regulations were met.
Once installed, the gates exceeded customer expectations. The timber-effect aluminium finish was so convincing that passers-by were genuinely surprised to learn the gates were not real timber. The customer was truly over the moon with the result and has left some amazing feedback.
