Wooden Sliding Gates

Wooden Gates

Garden Wooden Gates

Wooden automatic sliding gates not only look great but also provide a practical solution for restricted parking areas or where the driveway slopes thus preventing swing gates from opening inwards.

Wooden sliding gates can meet several other criteria including privacy and increased security whilst being less vunerable to wind loading situations.

Construction

Our wooden sliding gates are manufactured in Northamptonshire to the highest standard by skilled craftsmen using traditional hand made construction methods.

In addition to this, AGD Systems supplies and installs the top steel guide rail and bottom rail/member to which the drive racking and rolling gear are assembled. We will carry out all the groundwork, steelwork, electrics and electronics if required to provide a reliable gate system for years of trouble free use.

Finish Treatment
We include 2 to 3 coats of good quality finish stain such as Sikkens or Sadolin.

Colours available include Light Oak, Medium Oak, Dark Oak, Burma Teak, African Walnut, Jacobean Walnut, Dark Palisander and Ebony.

It is also possible to apply oil such as Danish or Teak Oil, please bear in mind that oiled finishes may require regular applications if a high quality finish is to be maintained.

Special colours are available upon request – please supply the RAL or BS colour reference number/description.

Design Style
There are traditional and contemporary design styles available, but if you are looking for that something special – let us know – we specialise in bespoke designs.

Wood Species

Our wooden gates are made from joinery grade hardwood and softwood species, sourced from sustainable certificated sources.

  • West African Mahogany – hardwood
  • Idigbo – hardwood
  • Iroko – hardwood
  • Scandinavian Redwood - softwood

We recommend hardwoods for sliding gates as these are best in providing dimensional stability, good resistance to rot and overall longevity when regularly maintained.
