Automatic Picket Vehicle gate

Client Brief:

To provide a new electric boundary gate with vehicle and pedestrian access. Pickets to keep pets in.

Gates to be easy to operate and be in keeping with the village location

Description:
Automatic Picket Vehicle gate with Pedestrian access

Location:
Central England

This is another version of a 5 bar vehicle gate which is called the Picket gate. The name picket gate derives from the picket/pales in the lower section of the gate.

The gates are traditionally constructed from Iroko hardwood with a fully stained with dark colour stain finish. The gates are mounted to solid timber posts with give the whole gate entrance a neat and bold look.

This gate can be supplied with either a solid bottom rail or traditional manual gate rail in which case the motor unit would be installed to the top rail.

Electric automation is installed in the form of the FAAC 422 hydraulic surface mounted operator ram that has anti-crush by pass valves. A security electro mag-lock is fitted to the slam post which prevents the gate from being forced open and damaging the operator.

The vehicle gate is operated via hand held transmitters in the semi automatic mode i.e. 1 pulse to open and 1 pulse to close.

Safety equipment installed includes photocell beams and underground induction safety loop detector(s).

The matching pedestrian gate has a manual latch that allows access for the postman and other visitors on foot.

AGD Systems carried out the whole installation (with the exception of the power supply and civil works requirements which were provided by others).
